Conference Weekend

What are some of your conference weekend traditions?
Here are a few of ours...

  •  We always have bisquits and gravy for breakfast.
  • We eat donuts directly after stuffing ourselves with bisquits and gravy.
  • We try and get our kids to sit quietly and pay attention.  To do so, we bribe them with a small piece candy for each talk they listen to.
  • They don't just get the candy, they have to earn it by telling one thing they learned from each talk.  Abby is getting pretty good at it, she usually get's the big idea of the talk.  Trent still gives us answers like....Jesus, Heavenly Father, being good, choosing the right...etc.  Bless his heart, he tries :)
  • Because are children are muli-taskers, they still manage to tear the living room apart all while listening to those talks.
My children never cease to amaze me with how quickly they can make a mess.  This room was spotless before session 1 started Sunday.

Here it is after session 1....

And here we are after session 2...

I wouldn't trade it for the world!!

Sounds like great traditions to me! Your kids are getting so big. It's crazy. Your trip to AZ looks like a ton of fun. I have never taken my kidst o slide rock...I think I will next summer. It looks that fun! I'm glad things are going well for you.

I know 3 kids who can tear a room apart at the speed of light myself...;) you get mom of the year award for trying to get your kids to watch conference. Me? Well....let's just say I DON'T get that award...

Minus the mess, your living room looks great. I love the new couches and drapes. The bribing with candy is a great idea! I will try that next time.

Our room looked every similar BEFORE Conference even started - and we have no kids! I blame the recent move. :)

I can't believe how big everyone is getting, and looking so grown up! Time is flying!

Ah Yes! Congrats on raising multi- taskers. My kids are also expert tornados! Donuts fit nicely in the space between biscuits and gravy! Sounds delish!

I really enjoyed reading this Blog and thanks for trying all you can do to have your kids participate in Conference. I loved doing our traditions at General Conference time.
